autocad tracing of D HOUSE

While tracing the plan, i divide them into different layers with different colours.

enlarge the scale to an approximate real scale

third class - rhino

Rhino is a simplified tool to trace plan and modelling before export to 3d max for just rendering

In the first class of learning rhino, i think it's much more easier as it's similar as autocad.
Other than learning how to draw line and some editing, something new is being taught:

1. blendsrf
2. revolve
3. extrude
4. extrudealongroad
5. loft
6. sweep1
7. sweep2
8. railrevolve

learning progress

Second class,
1. put in landscape with smooth contours
2. create opening for a plane

1.  CREATE LANDSCAPE
firstly create a plane

set to "edit poly", go to "soft selection" to edit brush size

start to paint the plane, brush strength function to control the height of hill/
contour that you want to create. (red=high, yellow=median, blue=low)

go to polygon smoothing group, push or pull the desire height.
push = -n , pull = +n

FINISH- go to smooth+highlight mood , colour can be edited.

_____________________________________________________________________

2. CREATE OPENING

create a box and another small plane, intersect both objects

click on the bigger box and set to "compound object",
boolean->pick operand on smaller plane and it will create a hole

                                                                                 OR

create a rectangle on top view , create editable spline
add desire number on outline( found at geometry)

convert it to editable poly to make surface

highlight surface(polygon) and extrude it out

rotate it to 90 degree in perspective view

create a box( do steps at previously how it make opening with boolean)

select surface and delete the surface
FINISH- opening is made

first class, learning progress

8th april, monday is the first class of learning 3d max with Mr.Angus. After a brief introduction, students started to draw walls in autocad. Before importing 2d image from autocad to 3d max. It's important to group and label each elements of the building such as grouping wall, door, flooring separately. The reason of grouping each element in one is to convenient us and easy to extrude out each element in 3d max in later stage.

extruded wall with a few openings.

                                         A pathway is then added.
                                         1. draw polylines
                                         2. delete "non-edited" lines (left only edited, as shown in figure below)
                                         3. save and import to 3d max
                                         4. in 3d max, import and merge the drawing. the pathway will be
added perfectly if orientation of drawing or position is not change.
                                             (as shown in figure above)

4 views (elevations, top view, perspective) of drawing
can be seen in 3d max (alt-W)

then we learn how to draw plane in 3d max also.
Also, plan can be edited in moving the edges, plane,
                                          point and others.
